Sea Port
RKSP Energy Limited is supporting the development of a large-scale, modern sea port designed to serve as a major gateway for regional and international trade in Tanzania and across East Africa. Spread across approximately 650 meters (2,100 feet) with two high-capacity berths, this strategic port will handle cruise liners, roll-on/roll-off ferries, cargo ships, and bulk freight operations. Built to global standards of durability, safety, and efficiency, the port will play a critical role in strengthening marine logistics, accelerating trade flows, and supporting economic growth across the region.
The project is also a major employment generator, creating opportunities for more than 8,000 workers including engineers, drivers, skilled and unskilled laborers, painters, fitters, rig workers, masons, and port operators. In addition to direct employment for around 2,500 workers, the port will support another 5,500 indirect jobs, helping local communities and businesses benefit from the expansion of maritime infrastructure. With a dedicated container terminal spanning approximately 600 meters and designed to handle up to 62 million tonnes of cargo, the port will operate as a future-ready logistics hub capable of meeting rising trade demands.
Designed as a long-term strategic asset, the port integrates jetties, quay walls, pavements, container yards, inner roads, offices, power grids, utilities, shipyards, waiting bays, and yacht and small vessel hangars. Every element is engineered to ensure smooth cargo handling, safe navigation, and efficient movement of goods, making this facility a key contributor to Tanzania’s position as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
